what is jomon?

Jomon is the time period of Japan's rich culture that is designated as prehistory, spanning 14,000-300 BCE. Known for its contributions to pottery, toolmaking, and jewelry, the people of the Jomon period were innovative hunters and gatherers who cooked their food over open flames.

Fast forward to the present day, and the art of cooking over fire has evolved into the culinary tradition of Yakiniku, also known as table grilling.
